Tune it step by step
Choose Electric guitar
Open Guitar Tuner Fast and select Electric guitar to load the six standard strings.
Start on E2
Play the low E string cleanly. Mute the neighboring strings with your picking or fretting hand.
Read the pitch
Use microphone mode for automatic detection or play the reference note in By ear mode.
Adjust in tiny steps
Turn the machine head gradually. Stop, pluck again and let the reading settle before making another adjustment.
Recheck after all six strings
On guitars with floating tremolos, repeat the full sequence more than once because each tension change can move the bridge.
02 — Tips
A few tips that make tuning easier
- Tune with the guitar in normal playing position; changing its angle can slightly affect some tremolo-equipped instruments.
- Do not bend the string while checking pitch. Use a natural, relaxed fretting-hand position.
- If tuning is unstable, check the nut slots, bridge, old strings and excessive tremolo movement.

Quick answers
Can I tune an electric guitar without an amplifier?
Yes. A browser microphone can hear the unplugged strings well enough in a quiet room, especially when you play one string at a time.
Why does my electric guitar go out of tune after bends?
Common causes include old strings, strings not stretched in, friction at the nut or a tremolo system that does not return perfectly to position.
